Child & Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy
A safe, consistent space for your child or young person to be understood.
Before therapy begins, I will meet with you as the parent or carer so we can talk about what has been happening and what you are concerned about.
I will then meet with your child in my therapy room in Newport.
The room contains toys and creative materials that children can use during sessions, and each child is also given their own individual therapy box.
Their weekly session becomes a space that belongs to them - providing consistency, safety and time to express things they may not yet be able to put into words.

We begin with a 6-session assessment period:
5 sessions with your child
1 parent feedback session
At the end of this period, we will think together about what I have observed and whether ongoing psychotherapy could be helpful.
Sessions last 50 minutes.
The length of therapy varies from child to child. Sometimes a relatively small number of sessions can create meaningful change. For others, longer-term therapy provides the time and consistency needed for deeper work.
I work with babies, children and young people from birth to age 25.
This includes:
Parent and infant work
Child psychotherapy
Adolescent psychotherapy
Young adult psychotherapy
£95 per session
You can pay for the initial six-session assessment block upfront or pay for each session individually.
A written assessment report can also be provided if required.

Parent Psychotherapy
A space for you to make sense of your child - and your own experience of parenting them.

Parenting a child who is struggling can leave you feeling worried, overwhelmed, frustrated, helpless or unsure what to do next.
Parent psychotherapy gives you somewhere to think.
I’m not here to tell you how to parent or to tell you that you are doing it wrong.
Instead, we explore what you are seeing in your child, what might be happening underneath their behaviour or emotions, and how their struggles are affecting you too.
When we begin to understand the relationship between your child’s inner world and your own emotional responses, things often start to feel very different.
I work with:
Birth parents
Adoptive parents
Foster parents
Grandparents
Carers
Sessions can take place online or in person.
Evening and weekend appointments are available for parents who work during the week.
